Meals on Wheels: Volunteers deliver hot meals to home-bound older adults. How often? Routes vary but typically take an hour to 1 ½ hours to deliver. Volunteers can deliver once a month, once a week, or a variety of schedules. Meals are delivered mid-day.

Leading Classes: If you enjoy leading groups of adults as they share and learn together, consider leading one of our evidence based classes: Healthy Living with Diabetes, Living Well with Chronic Conditions, Stepping On, or Powerful Tools for Caregivers. How often? After you participate in the training, we ask you to facilitate a class at least once a year. Classes are 2-3 hours once a week for 6-7 weeks.

Helping in the office: Volunteers help with data entry, various projects, making copies, or answering phones. How often? Some volunteers will come in on a project by project basis. Others will set up a time to come in for a few hours based on the need in each office. For example: once a week or once a month.

Medicare Open Enrollment Assistance: Volunteer help during the busy Medicare Part D Open Enrollment period by assisting with data entry. How often? Volunteers will typically come in once or twice a week for a few hours. This is a limited time volunteer opportunity as it starts mid- October and is done by late November.

Senior Dining Site: Help to make an active and welcoming dining program in your community! Help is needed by planning and implementing activities. Do you love to play an instrument? Do you enjoy planning games or reading poetry? Do you want to help serve lunch or are you willing to help with clean up and dishes? How often: The meal is a mid-day meal and volunteers come in prior to the meal or perhaps come in to help serve and clean up.

Package Meals: Do you enjoy a quick paced volunteer opportunity that is wrapped up by mid-morning? Packaging up the Meals on Wheels for the volunteer drivers starts earlier and ensures that meals are ready to go when the routes start. Find out about packaging meals in your community by calling our offices.
