The Dementia Care Specialist (DCS) will meet with individuals and families to help them better understand dementia. Discussion may include early detection, symptoms, progression, and how the person may be impacted over time. The DCS will participate in collaborative planning related to current care needs and anticipated future care needs. Strategies and tools will be offered to improve the quality of life of the person living with dementia, as well as addressing behavioral changes. Stress reduction and caregiver support options will also be identified and encouraged as needed.
