North Central Health Care’s Adult Protective Services Dept. investigates reports of suspected adult (18-59) and elder (60+). This includes reports of alleged abuse or neglect, self-neglect & financial exploitation. As well, the APS Department assesses for the need for guardianship and protective placement and provides emergency intervention when necessary.

The Adult Protective Services Unit provides protective services to ensure the rights and to provide for the safety of elderly and disabled adults who are incompetent or at risk as defined by Wisconsin Statutes. The unit also provides information and referral services to elderly and disabled adults who are competent, but live in a manner that may cause harm or create risks. Adult Protective Services is available to assess needs, offer services and make referrals as needed for elders who are victims of or at risk for abuse, neglect or self-neglect or financial exploitation. Also accepts referrals for guardianship when appropriate.
