CIRCLE OF LOVE LENTEN SOUP KITCHEN

Volunteers provide noon meals of soup and bread during Lent. Money donated at that time helps fund the Salvation Army throughout the year. Eligibilities: Lenten Soup Kitchen is open to all downtown visitors, workers and to the public. Food and gas vouchers for those who are in need.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER St Paul’s United Church of Christ

Provides a noon meal on Christmas Day for anyone who would otherwise be alone that day. Meals are served at St Paul’s UCC, 426 Washington St., Wausau. Offering take-outs (must call by December 17th to order) but no deliveries. Reservations are not required for the dinner at the church. Volunteers needed to help at the church on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day. Please call to volunteer.

FRIENDS THANKSGIVING DINNER First Presbyterian Church

The Friends Thanksgiving Dinner is an annual FREE, serving traditional fare for all who would be alone or hungry on Thanksgiving. The sit-down meal is prepared by the First Presbyterian Church youth fellowship and served at the church, no reservations needed (or taken). Take-out meals are delivered to those who are unable to attend. Those who are alone on Thanksgiving, unable to buy and prepare food themselves, or merely want to enjoy a community meal. No eligibility questions are asked. Information is available each year approximately 2 ½ weeks before Thanksgiving, for both people in need and people who want to volunteer. Thanksgiving is November 23rd.

HO-CHUNK NATION TRIBAL AGING UNIT

Hot meals are served Monday – Wednesday 11:30-12:30 at the site and breakfast on Thursday 9:30-10:30 and delivered to home bound elderly. All meals on a contribution basis with contributions a very necessary part of the budget.

JUBILEE HOUSE

Located in the cafeteria at Faith Christian Academy (formerly St Matthew’s School), the Jubilee House is a Catholic Worker House that provides hospitality for anyone no matter what station they are in life. Jubilee House serves a free community meal every Thursday evening 4:30-6:00 pm with the exception of Legal Holidays, Holy Thursday and when the Wausau District closes schools due to inclement weather. The cafeteria is handicapped accessible. Meal is open to all. No calling ahead necessary.

The Nutrition and Diabetes Services team consists of Registered Dietitians and Registered Nurses that will provide an individualized assessment and treatment plan.
