AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY HOPE LODGE

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge serves as a home away from home – free of charge – for adult cancer patients and their caregivers. Hope Lodge, a non-medical facility, offers a sense of community and comfort to patients who must travel to nearby medical facilities for lifesaving treatment. The lodge features 22 private guest rooms, laundry facilities, a library, fitness room, large community areas and kitchens for residents to store and prepare their meals. During the often long and emotional processes of treatment, guests of Hope Lodge receive support from professionals, families, friends, and other patients to help build the hope needed throughout their cancer journey.

AMERICAN RED CROSS

The American Red Cross provides service to military families and offers assistance to victims of natural disasters as well as disasters involving home fires and home flooding. Education courses including first aid, CPR, swimming lessons, & babysitting.

EHAF - EMERGENCY HOUSING ASSISTANCE FUNDS

The Emergency Housing Assistance Fund (EHAF) agencies are a group of community organizations that are concerned about homelessness and poverty in the greater Wausau community. Its mission is to address and help alleviate problems of homelessness while maintaining the dignity of potentially homeless persons. EHAF grants may provide EMERGENCY housing assistance to area residents who would otherwise be homeless. Funds are intended for emergency rent.

TRUTH (THREE RIVERS UNITED TEMPORARY HOUSING/OUR SISTERS’S HOUSE)

Our Sisters’ House is a temporary homeless shelter. Men, Women, and children will stay up to three months while working to achieve their goals in order to become self-sufficient.

WOMEN'S COMMUNITY SAFE SHELTER

The Women’s Community has a Safe Shelter with an informal and supportive setting. Sheltering is available to domestic abuse victims, their children and victims of sexual assault/survivors and human trafficking. Emergency food and personal items are provided at the Shelter, with kitchen and laundry facilities. Sheltering may last a few days or several weeks, depending on the individual’s and family members’ needs.
