CRISIS INTERVENTION –WOOD COUNTY

A confidential telephone program offering information and referral to local resources, supportive listening, and emergency services. This is the contact point for access to numerous Wood County agencies and programs. Crisis Intervention is the most effective route to mobilize immediate face to face assistance for mental health, alcohol, and other drug abuse, and developmental disabilities. This phone line will help people in crisis situations anytime day or night and is a suicide intervention hotline. Major source of funding is governmental and individuals are not charges for crisis services, but attempts may be made to bill insurance if available.

CRISIS LINE

Also known as the Crisis and Suicide Prevention Line, this program offers suicide and crisis intervention 24 hrs./day to individuals in the tri-county area of Marathon, Lincoln and Langlade Counties. It also provides information and referral to other services when appropriate.

CRISIS STABILIZATION

The Crisis Center at North Central Health Care provides access to a Crisis Stabilization CBRF, which is a non-medical setting for adults in crisis who might otherwise require hospitalization. Paraprofessional staff provide one-on-one support 24 hrs./day. The Crisis Stabilization CBRF is located on the Wausau NCHC campus and provides services to adult residents of Marathon, Lincoln, and Langlade Counties. The Crisis Stabilization CBRF is also a transitional placement for persons discharged from the inpatient psychiatric unit but who are not yet able to live independently.

MOBILE CRISIS TEAM

The Crisis Center at North Central Health Care has professional staff that will go to a safe setting to provide face-to-face intervention and clinical assessment for people experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of harming self or others. Eligibilities: Persons in Marathon, Lincoln or Langlade County experiencing a mental health crisis, or suicidal/homicidal thoughts. When insurance is not available, payments are based on a sliding-fee scale. Access is also provided through the 1-800-SUICIDE hotline.
